Utility Enterprise Initiative Overview

ACTING RESPONSIBLY &THINKING FORWARD

Tulsa leaders have been forward thinkers since the early days of our water system. The leadership of our early stewards has led to the stable, reliable water and wastewater system we benefit from today. The leadership that governs our system assets today is acting responsible as our fore-fathers did. The TMUA and City of Tulsa are taking a proactive approach to act and replace degrading system infrastructures. Delaying investment in critical system components can result in disruptions that increase expenditures for repair and replacement. Degrading utility systems is a national trend, Tulsa is doing our part to ensure our future generations are provided for.

A CUTTING EDGECOLLABORATION

A collaboration with Infrastructure Management Group (IMG) has resulted in the Utility Enterprise Initiative (UEI). The UEI program is a cutting-edge, all-encompassing approach to analyzing significant aspects of the utility systems including governance and organizational structure, asset management, operational performance, capital needs, financial condition and legal and public policy.

A key element of the UEI includes credible, analysis-based estimates of where, when and how much pipe replacement or treatment facility investment is required. This means the UEI will allow the City of Tulsa to be smarter and more efficient when it comes to system upgrade.
